Chestnut casks are secretly known to be amazing for aging whisky, yet they are forbidden in some places. At Agitator, we prioritize science over tradition, and our passion lies in experimenting with a diverse range of wood types, not just limiting ourselves to oak. Try our chestnut cask-aged whisky and tell us if great whisky shouldn’t come before old-fashioned rules.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
There are notes of dried fruit, with streaks of sweet raisin and red berries.
TASTE
You will find leather, honey, vanilla and hovering in the background, a slight smokiness that adds complexity to this whisky.
SCANDINAVIAN SOUR
50 ml Agitator Chestnut Cask
20 ml Malic acid from Sandbergs Drink Lab
20 ml Lingonberry Acid from Sandbergs Drink Lab
20 ml Strawberry sugar syrup
Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass or directly in the glass.
Then top with Honey/Chestnut Foam*
* Honey/Chestnut Foam - Heat 200g of honey and 40cl of water, once the honey has dissolved you can add 10cl of Chestnut Cask. Let it cool down. Pour everything together with 10 cl egg white into a cream siphon.
